The Tale of How Ninjabun was Fooled

One evening, Ninjabun was skulking into the vegetable garden, when he spotted a giant in the carrot patch!

"Who are you, and what have you done with Carrot?" he demanded.

"It's me, I'm Carrot. I grew up over night. I'm really the Great Carrot. On Halloween, I fly through the air and bring toys and candy to all the good little...."

"Please," interrupted Ninjabun. "That's the Great Pumpkin."

"Oh, um. Well, I'm also the Goon Fairy. Little Bunny Foo-Foo, I don't wanna see you, hopping through the garden and tricking all the carrots," the giant sang.

"What? How did you know!" Ninjabun leapt straight up into the air and scurried away in a fright.

Carrot poked his head out from behind Grass and they both bust up laughing.

Moomin Village plush

Yesterday I found this cute Moomin plush on Amazon.  Next year I plan to make my own Snufkin and Moominpappa. Six years ago I made a Snufkin felt puppet, and started but didn't finish papier mache and marionette versions.

What are Moomins? moomins are whimsical creations of Finnish artist Tove Jansson, and to be found in books, comics, and cartoons. Snufkin is one of the characters in the moomin world-- a hobo, a happy wanderer, enemy of park-keepers and friend to Moomintroll.

There's even a Flickr group for moomin fans called Muumi. Moomin Village is a real place, too. I hope it's not like Hello Kitty Land.

I sometimes wish I were more like Snufkin, and went out exploring the wide world.
