snufkin

Knitted backpack in progress

I'm fumbling along, working on a lining for a knitted backpack. Doh, I'm so close to finishing!  I am a painfully slow hand sewer and I've never done a lining before.

Skinny:

3 skeins of Blackwater Abbey yarn, color: Jacob
Size 11 circular needle
Lining is brown cotton duck fabric
Stitch pattern is from Barbara Walker's Second Treasury of Knitting Patterns "Diagonal Scallop Stitch"

Originally intended to be felted, I changed my mind after knitting it. I'm creating side pleats to take in the extra fabric at the sides.

So far, everyone who has seen the bag compliments me on the color and stitch. Here's a picture of the yarn sample on the Blackwater Abbey site.
