where the wild things are

snufkin
Last night I went to the midnight screening of Where the Wild Things Are. I wouldn't do this for just any movie, cos this was a weekday. And it was lovely. So perfect to be watching this at midnight, sleepy, amongst a bunch of adult fans cracking up. At the border between sleepyness and wakefulness, I feel the raw emotions, the images of wild landscapes seeping in and try to remember what it was like to be that young again. The wild things are dark colored expressions of what's roiling about in this young child. I think my wild things would be more frightening looking. Would not like to meet them.

I felt rather spoiled of some good bits by watching the trailer, but really, how could I help it? Now I'm having a brief obsession with Arcade Fire's song Wake Up, which was re-recorded for the trailer. The song and AF album inspired the film's director. You can find the video and live version with David Bowie on YouTube. It was interesting reading what people thought about the song lyrics years ago at SongMeanings.

Aww, I missed out on the opening night show! But a bunch of us are going to see it next Tuesday at the Metreon in SF, in pajamas and animal costumes -- wanna join us?

So it's tomorrow, the 8 p.m., non-Imax showing at the Metreon. Yaay! I'll have a couple loaner animal hats, and feel free to bring friends!

8:30? Or did you mean 7:30?

Hey, that means you get dibs on the fuzzy hat with matching paw mittens!

Hehe.

Good to see you, too! I've been hibernating for a while and slowly waking up.

Wow, you made socks! It must be fun, or you would not be making them. Maybe I have sock-fear. It looks so twicky with all those needles.

Happy SUN day <3

i found it how to make heels
"http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_yVikAvPuE4"
i like this lady! Cat bordhi
"http://www.catbordhi.com/index.html"

while i was there i watched her~how to use 2 circular needles and that's what i do no more loosing a needle
and having to restitch..

its a bit of a challenge to make a toe, turn a heel
and if i do some sort of stripe counting is easy

its warm feet that is my goal
they don't sell acrylic sox so that's what i've been making.. cept that last pair that i hope won't felt too small- they might end up on the nephew

I like Cat Bordhi, too! Thank you for the links, faun. I think I need another circular to knit on two needles.

Are your feets warm and toasty? I want to see your socks! Do you wear them when you are sleeping? What colors do you like? :D

Don't worry about them being too small. Then you can make them into socky toys like this, or give to your nephew.

It's been a long time since I've seen you on my friends' page. It's really good! I hope you will post more and that all is well in your world. :-)

Dear Heliina,
Ah, it's good to hear from you too! I look at your posts but I don't say anything, sorry. I liked the picture of the snail under the mushroom and how you were looking for fairy villages. I wondered if you were making fairy houses too.

I had not been feeling well for a long spell and so was not saying much. I'm feeling better though today, and your words make me feel better too. :)

(hugs)
